Sara gry striegler

Sara is an external partner at Nyby, working to scale and expand Nyby into the Danish welfare society, so that Denmark can learn from and reap the results Nyby has achieved in Norway.

Sara Gry Striegler is an experienced leader and strategist within social innovation, systemic change and futures design. With an extensive leadership background from, among others, the Danish Design Centre, she has specialised in how complex societal challenges can be solved through mission-oriented innovation, new organisational forms and new leadership principles. Sara is passionate about connecting human needs with organisations' opportunities to create lasting and measurable improvements in society.

Sara is the founder of Kindred Lab, a laboratory for new ways of thinking, leading and creating change, driven by shared ambitions, curiosity and the will to explore and take responsibility. Kindred Lab helps organisations find direction in the complexity and paradoxes that characterise our welfare society, and turn uncertainty and complexity into new opportunities.

Sara is the author of a number of chapters in books on public innovation and futures research, and has recently published Navigating Societal Change through Design, written together with Julie Hjort for Policy Press (September 2025).

What drives me

I am passionate about creating change that goes deeper than individual projects. Our welfare systems face complex, systemic challenges where it is hard to find a way forward, and where solutions in one place often create new problems in another.

For me, it is essential to work both with the people who are to create the change and with the organisations that need to transform. Nyby creates space for new roles, new perspectives and new opportunities, so that organisations, ecosystems and people can discover new resources and new forms of collaboration — all with one goal: better lives for people in our society. That is worth working for.
